'The Onion's' Tweets Under Analysis By U.S Capitol Police
Tweets sent through the Onion are now being looked into by U.S. Capitol Police following the satirical news site reported there was a shooting within the Capital and Reps had to have hostages.our editor recommendsGayle King, Arianna Huffington Lobby for that Onion to Win a Pulitzer Beginning Thursday morning, the Onion's Twitter feed reported, "BREAKING: Capitol building being evacuated. 12 children held hostage by number of armed congressmen. #CongressHostage." The website accompanied with follow-up reviews, "Congress Takes Number of Schoolchildren Hostage" and "Police helicopter just purchased to drag back after Repetition. Trent Hot dogs attempted to consider it lower having a shotgun. #CongressHostage." PHOTOS: Hollywood's Twitter Feuds The reviews ongoing, "BREAKING: Congress demanding $12 trillion ransom or "all of the kids die" #CongressHostage." Fans from the Twitter feed responded by telling the authors the tweets were "unfunny" and "a lame gag." But Politico reviews the Capitol Police aren't laughing. A spokesperson for that police told the website, "It's arrived at our attention that recents twitter feeds are confirming false information concerning current conditions in the U.S. Capitol. Conditions in the U.S. Capitol are presently normal. There's no credibility to those tales or even the twitter feeds. The U.S. Capitol Police remain presently looking into the confirming."
