(Hebrew, British, French dialogue)Greater that "Joe + Belle" attempts to exert its hipness like a black comedy about two youthful lesbians accidentally killing people and eluding what the law states, the higher the stress shows. Israeli director, co-author and co-star Veronica Kedar tends to not notice when her film's antics have become annoying, and shows little aptitude for comic timing. Feeling lengthy at even 80 minutes' running time, pic's local This summer 31 release will draw little attention despite its originality about the Israeli cinema scene. Fest run is going to be mild. Joe (Kedar) comes to Tel Aviv from Bangkok for no particular reason, especially given how she states she does not look after the country. She soon encounters Belle (Sivan Levy, overdoing it), just launched from the psychological hospital and already running from her mother. Their unlikely courtship, that is never well described through the stars, includes shooting Joe's ex-b.f. Matan (Yotam Ishay) and dumping his body. The chase develops to Eilat, ejaculating having a wan music contest inside a bar. Pic's elements of design attempt an old-fashioned look, but this along with a couple of political dollops are basically irrelevant items of business.Camera (color, B&W, HD), Ron Haimov editor, Daniel Keysary music, Daphna Keenan production designer, Marina Gorevich costume designer, Ofri Barel.
